  2. Having lived in Guatemala I find your ancesters features very similar to the people of that area. When living there you can sometimes tell what ethnic background people have by looking at them. Mayan is a very broad term encompassing many different communities today. It certainly would be very interesting to discover this family history.

  3. Hi Jana,
Can I just say I was wowed by your blog! Being fairly new to the blogging world, it's been a real learning experience. One of my favorite things to do is visit other blogs for good stories and ideas. Your site is so well organized and such an interesting read. It's given me a slew of ideas for improving my own site, www.ancestorsleuthhound.com. Your signatures tab is very clever and I loved loved loved the story about your great-grandfather the dentist. Those are the kinds of relatives we bloggers can only hope to discover. Thanks for sharing your roots!

  5. Hello Jana,
Have you noticed or know anything going on with Blog site not showing posts before 2011? They show on my home page but not in the blog post list? I was wondering of its something I dont know about.
    Thanks.

    1. Hi Betty,

I haven't noticed this problem with my blog. And I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps a call or email to the blog host company may help fix the problem? Hopefully they'll be able to resolve your problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  9. Hello Jana,
Luther Waterman was my 5th Great Grandfather. Phebe married my 4th Great Grandfather, Nathaniel Pierce. I can shed some light on the family from there. The Pierce family is huge and it is only half accurately listed. Half of it was hidden as it would have been quite a scandal in its day.
